【摘要】:ThismethodisfordeterminingthecrushstrengthofextrudedandshapedcatalystsusingaChatillonmotorizedsamplestandandforcegaugewithachiselanvil.Themeasurementrangeisfrom1Newton(N)(0.22lbf)to250N(56lbf).Therangecanbeextendedto450N(101lbf)whenusinganalternativeforcegauge.TestapparatusotherthantheChatillonmaybeusedprovidedcomparabledatacanbeobtained.Forstatisticalpurposes,thenumberofextrudedpiecescrushedissetataminimumoffifty;however,moremaybespecified.DatageneratedusingthismethodcannotbedirectlycomparedtothosegeneratedusingUOPMethod914,AutomatedCrushStrengthofCatalystsorMolecularSieves.Thismethodwillyieldhighervaluesforcrushstrength.Propercomparisonscanonlybemadeaftertestsareruntodeterminetheoffsetbetweenthetwomethods.Suchoffsetsareexpectedtovaryfromproducttoproduct.
