【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulforrapiddeterminationofviableactivebiomassconcentrationsincoolingtowerwaters.Theefficiencyofcoolingtowersisdirectlyaffectedbytheconcentrationofbiomassinthecoolingtowerwaters.Asbiomassconcentrationsincrease,biofilmformationoccursresultinginadecreaseintheefficiencyofheatexchangeinthetower.Currenttestsformonitoringthebiomassconcentrationincoolingtowersrequireatleast36hforgrowthofthemicroorganismsonasolidagarsurfaceforcounting.Replicationofmicroorganismsoverthe36-hperiodbeforeresultsareavailablecreatesanaqueousenvironmentwhichisnolongerrepresentedbythedatagenerated.Timelytestresultscanassistinminimizingbiocideadditiontocontrolbiomassconcentrations.KoolKountprovidesdatawithinhourstoallowformoreprecisecontrolofactivebiomassconcentrationsinthewaters.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofviableactivebiomassincoolingtowerwaterintherangefrom102to108cfu/mL(1).Itisasemiquantitativetestmethod.1.2Thistestmethodwasusedsuccessfullywithreagentwater,physiologicsaline,andcoolingtowerwaters.Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforwatersofuntestedmatrices.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodrelatesefficiencyofoperationofdomesticheatingequipmenttocleanburning.Reducingcombustionairinaburnergivesmoreefficientoperation.Theextenttowhichcombustionaircanbereducedislimitedbytheonsetofunacceptablesmokeproduction.Bydelineatingtherelationbetweensmokedensityandairsupply,thistestmethod(togetherwithnetstacktemperaturedata)definesthemaximumefficiencyforagiveninstallationatanyacceptablesmokelevel.Forcertaintypesofequipment,suchastherotarywall-flameburner,toomuchexcessairwillcausesmokeaswellastoolittle.Forthesecases,thepointofminimumexcessairattheacceptablesmokelevelindicatestheoptimumefficiency.Theoperatingtemperaturesoftheequipmentwillaffectthesetestresults.Therelationofexcessairtosmokedensityisthussusceptibletosomechangeatdifferentpointsinanoperatingcycle.Inpractice,anadequatecompromiseispossiblebyoperatingtheburnerfor15minbeforeanyreadingsarerecordedandthenobtainingthetestdatawithinasucceeding25-minperiod.Underlaboratoryconditions,CO2readingsarereproducibletox00B1;0.3%andsmokereadingsarereproducibletox00B1;x00BD;smokespotnumber.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationoftheperformanceofdistillatefuelsfromthestandpointofclean,efficientburning.ItisintendedprimarilyforusewithhomeheatingequipmentburningNo.1orNo.2fueloils.Itcanbeusedeitherinthelaboratoryorinthefieldtocomparefuelsusingagivenheatingunitortocomparetheperformanceofheatingunitsusingagivenfuel.1.2Thevaluesininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Arbitraryandrelativeunitsarealsoused.Note18212;Thistestmethodappliesonlytopressureatomizingandrotary-typeburners.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
